JOB DETAILS:
Job title: Commercial Manager.
Contract: Permanent.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday between 9:00am - 5:00pm with flexibilty.

JOB PURPOSE:
The postholder will be responsible for owning and managing high‑value strategic partnerships across the UK healthcare ecosystem. This includes full accountability for customer relationships, the end‑to‑end contract lifecycle (from bid and negotiation through to mobilisation, delivery, and billing), and ensuring operational excellence across all service lines.
The role carries full P&L responsibility, working closely with HR to ensure optimal workforce planning and overseeing scheduling to meet contractual and clinical governance requirements. The postholder will drive financial performance, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
In addition, the postholder will:
Develop and own go to market strategy.
Full customer journey end to end.
Develop and scale operating model.
Build and maintain a strong external profile within the healthcare, Occupational health vaccinations, primary care, and insurance sectors.
Cultivate senior‑level relationships across commissioners, insurers, and clinical networks.
Represent the organisation at industry events and strategic forums.
Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders, influencing service design, innovation, and commercial strategy.
This role requires a strong commercial mindset, deep sector connections, and the ability to operate at pace in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Partnership Leadership
Own and manage high‑value strategic partnerships across insurers, occupational health providers, pharmacy partners, GP networks, and commissioning bodies.
Act as the senior point of contact for all partner relationships, ensuring trust, alignment, and long‑term commercial growth.
Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and service expansions to maximise value and strengthen market position.
Commercial & Financial Performance
Hold full P&L responsibility for assigned partnerships, ensuring revenue, margin, and cost targets are consistently achieved.
Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from bid development and mobilisation through to delivery, performance monitoring, and billing.
Identify commercial opportunities and maintain a pipeline
Operational Excellence
Work closely with HR and workforce planning teams to ensure appropriate staffing levels across clinical and operational teams.
Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and service delivery to meet contractual KPIs, clinical governance standards, and service-level agreements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Network Management
Hold and manage key relationships as a preferred supplier, ensuring compliance, performance, and strategic alignment.
Develop, maintain, and optimise networks to support scalable delivery
Ensure all network partners meet required standards, contractual obligations, and performance expectations.
Service Delivery & Clinical Pathway Oversight
Oversee the delivery of workplace vaccination programmes.
Ensure clinical pathways are safe, efficient, and aligned with regulatory and best‑practice standards.
Collaborate with clinical Director to ensure high‑quality patient care and robust clinical governance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Sector Influence
Build and maintain a strong external profile within the occupational health corporate settings.
Represent the organisation at industry events, forums, and strategic meetings to strengthen brand presence and influence.
Engage senior stakeholders to shape service design, innovation, and long‑term partnership strategy.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all services operate in line with regulatory, clinical, and contractual requirements.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks across operational, financial, and partnership domains.
Maintain robust reporting, performance dashboards, and governance frameworks.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Degree Educated (Post Graduate Desirable.
Proven experience in partnership management, operations, and service delivery.
Existing network, corporate clients, insurance and occupational health.
Experience managing full contract lifecycle and customer relationships.
Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility.
Experience working with HR and operational teams to deliver large-scale programs.
Proven track record of strategic business development in the sector.
Track record in operational improvement, change management and operational efficiency.
Track record of leading and managing projects.
Workforce management planning and critical thinking.
Budget contrrol, business development and revenue generation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
